I can think of many things that put a smile on my face. This artwork is one of them. Collaborated with photographer Bruce Talbot to design and create a series of work that is now available for purchase.
I love the feel of this image and the mandala just brings it full circle. I look forward to creating more work that is paired with images.
Now I’m excited to share that this can be acquired on apparel! It will be available as an art print soon. In the mean time, it can be acquired through Bruce’s site here.
Mandala by me + image by Bruce Talbot = Magical Goodness. This was another project thatgot me outside of my comfort zone.
When faced with uncertainty, one can get caught up in their head. It’s amazing how many negative thoughts come to mind over a scenario that has not happened.
I came across this quote the other day and thought it was fitting.
“Fear keeps us focused on the past or worried about the future. If we can acknowledge our fear, we can realize that right now we are okay. Right now, today, we are still alive, and our bodies are working marvelously. Our eyes can still see the beautiful sky. Our ears can still hear the voices of our loved ones.”
–Thich Nhat Hanh
On that note reflect, meditate, ponder, take a walk and do something that gets you out of your comfort zone. Maybe daily is too much to aim for but just know that I’m rooting for you.
Hope you enjoyed seeing this work and I look forward to sharing more of my creations with you.
Oh silly me, the things I worry about that make no sense. Hope you enjoy the short video below. See it as a reminder to keep on going even when interruptions occur. Oh and have fun while you are at it!
Let me know what comes to mind after watching this.
PS: Confession time. I love to sing in the car but not when stopped at a red light.
Might be time to nip that in the butt and not care what others think.
This simple video is about how to doodle with five simple shapes. Now there are so many different styles of doodling but this is for abstract drawing. I’d love to be able to do character doodles but that is another beast in itself.
I would spend time admiring other artist’s work and would not start doodling. I felt I needed to learn every possible pattern, line and shape before starting. That is a wrong way to go about doing things.
If you want to doodle, I feel that you can start with what you have. Once I realized to draw with very simple shapes, I started to doodle more. I encourage you to create often and keep your process simple.
HOW TO DOODLE WITH FIVE SIMPLE SHAPES
Hope this helps. I’d love to know what you think and what have you doodled!
Looking to getting your creative journey going ? Read this post.
Lately I’ve felt drawn to creating more and put my work out there. Starting my creative journey is a priority. However, I always seem to not find the time nor do I want to pick just one area of focus. Making excuses after excuse. Can you relate to that? I realized it’s self sabotage.
It’s easy to find time to swipe around Instagram and other platforms. It’s another thing to take the time to create. I feel I need to be aware of that block and move through it.
I have realized that I must create for myself first because it makes me happy. There is a saying in french “qui tente rien, n’a rien” One who tries nothing has nothing.
THE CREATIVE JOURNEY
Remember that Rome was not built in a day. I’m giving myself permission to get it done not perfect. Allow yourself to do the same.
Once you’ve got the change to watch this, I’d love to know… What might be the one thing you’d like to work on for the next 30 days?
Hello you, this is N’Deye! You are reading my first blog post! It’s the beginning of me sharing my journey accompanied by some tummy bubbling fear. Just to get things out of the way here is how my name is pronounced.
How do you do? Haha. I am a creative!
WHY AM I BLOGGING?
I started this creative lifestyle blog to share my journey. It’s a venture in exploring the world of creativity and self expression. I’ve spent many years suppressing my true aspirations. My obstacles are the fear of the unknown, of being judged, of felling not good enough, and of making major decisions. Can you fear me now? Hehe.
My solution is to take inspired action and to put my work out there. One of my goals is to be the best version of myself and to be happy above all!
What content to expect?
The main topics will revolve around creativity, beauty, and self care. N’Deye’s Life really. It’s a creative lifestyle blog. The focus is to live creatively while loving yourself and what you do. Here’s the thing about creativity, it can start anywhere and with little.Grab a pen and napkin and doodle!
Approach creativity as a practice, not a profession
~ Timothy Goodman.
My hope is through this blog you find the courage to hop on boat and create as well as love and take care of yourself. I believe that it goes hand in hand.
WHO AM I WRITING FOR?
I am writing for the creative who is ready to step up and listen to your true inner voice and needs some inspiration. You are not alone. I must admit I have my good and bad days. However I believe by me sharing frequently, might help others. I have gone through periods of low self esteem and self image. I thought I was too short, ugly, and not good enough. I’m blogging to encourage those who might feel the same.
Be, do, and have what you truly want. Excuses, please step aside!
HOW TO GET INVOLVED?
I welcome comments and feedback. However, if I feel it’s not constructive, I will clean it up. This is a zone of love and encouragement. Please leave a positive mark, a constructive positive mark, or none at all. The world is full of negativity and there is no need to add it here go where the crap is at and stay there.
WHAT ARE MY INTENTIONS?
My main goal with this blog is to regularly share my work, findings, and knowledge. Each post will be accompanied by video or a visual piece of work. It’s a challenge to just do the damn thing and stop waiting.
Another goal is to become a full-time creative artist. If you are like me and still have a 9-5 or a part time job, just know it starts with putting one foot in front of the other. Knock out one goal after the other and never give up. I used to be reserved when asked about what I did for a living. Not anymore! We are all on different creative paths, own it and chug along!
There you have it in a nutshell. My objective is to share who I am, what I do, document my creative and life journey, and encourage others to join along.
Let me know below where you are at in your creative and life endeavors. What are you currently looking forward to tackling, improving or working on?
Until then have fun, create, and above all get going!
